Halal Sweets

What that means in practice

Most sweets are halal simply because of what they are: boiled sweets, chocolate, mints and toffees contain nothing that would make them otherwise. The question only really arises with gummies and jellies, which are set with gelatine.

Every gelatine sweet we stock is made with halal beef gelatine. We do not carry pork gelatine in any line. Where a sweet contains gelatine, its ingredient list on the product page says so in full — we publish the complete declaration for every product rather than asking you to take our word for it.

Certification

Many of the lines we stock are HMC certified by the manufacturer who makes them. That certification belongs to those producers, and it applies to their products rather than to our shop as a whole — we are not the certificate holder. If you need to know the certification status of a particular sweet before you order, ask us and we will tell you exactly what the supplier has provided.

If you also avoid gelatine

Halal and vegetarian are not the same thing. A halal gummy still contains beef gelatine, so it is not suitable for vegetarians or vegans. If that matters to you, our vegan sweets and vegetarian sweets are the ranges to look at — those contain no gelatine at all.
