Trick or treating is the one night of the year when you give food to children whose allergies you know nothing about. We publish the complete ingredient declaration and allergen statement on every product, including the manufacturer’s “may contain” warnings word for word.
That is the practical difference between buying here and buying a multipack: when a parent asks at the door, you can answer.
Halloween sweet cones and party bags
For a party rather than the doorstep, cones look better than bags and take about the same time to fill. Around 100g a cone, built from something bulky, something colourful and something small to fill the gaps.
Two things to know if you are making them ahead: unwrapped fizzy and sour sweets go tacky within a day, because the acid coating pulls in moisture, and chocolate in a warm room will bloom and mark the cellophane. Wrapped and dry lines will sit happily for two to three weeks. The full method is in what to put in sweet cones.
Why not just buy a multipack?
You can, and for twenty callers it is fine. The reasons people come to us instead: loose sweets work out cheaper per kilo than novelty packaging, you can pick lines that suit the children actually knocking on your door, and you can say exactly what is in something.
